One of Singapore’s much-beloved musicals, Beauty World is back with a brand new cast, new director and a fresh new take! This year’s Beauty World will feature Chiang\u2019s revised script and for the first time, it will be directed by its co-creator and composer, Dick Lee. <\/p>\n

Beauty World first made its debut in the 1988 Singapore Arts Festival. Since its debut in 1988, the musical has enjoyed multiple re-staging, including a successful Japan tour (1992) and a record-breaking production shown live on TV (1998). Set in mid-60s Singapore, the musical comedy traces the adventures of an innocent young girl from Batu Pahat (Ivy Chan Poh Choo) who enters a seedy cabaret hoping to find her long-lost father and in the process, learns some heartbreaking truths about life and love. <\/p>\n

Beauty World 2015 will feature an exciting cast made up of the best talents from both the theatre and television. Jeanette Aw sheds her good-girl image to play Lulu, the beautiful but vindictive cabaret queen who becomes jealous of Ivy, the innocent Kampong Girl protagonist played by Cheryl Tan. Adding to the already impressive cast is Janice Koh, who will be making her musical debut as the wise and winsome Mummy and a host of talented stage artistes Frances Lee, Joshua Lim, Timothy Wan and more. <\/span><\/p>\n
