Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph, presents Frozen, the stunning big-screen comedy adventure which in our opinion, is THE best Disney Animation Film of the year.

Frozen is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale ‘The Snow Queen’, first published in 1845. It tells the story of two Nordic sisters, both of them princesses in the kingdom of ‘Arendelle’. Princess Anna is the free-spirited, fun-loving, optimistic princess who’s blessed with a good heart but no special powers. Her elder sister, Princess Elsa isolates herself from all her loved ones because she was born with an extraordinary forbidden power which she cannot control — the ability to cast an ice spell on anything she touches.

We went with the notion that it’s gonna be a typical children’s animation movie, predictable and entertaining but we couldn’t be more wrong. The epic adventure which Anna embarked on with Kristoff, a rugged mountain man to find her sister in a bid to free Arendelle from the spell of eternal winter is both a touching and comical one. The addition of the hilarious snowman ‘Olaf’, ‘Sven’, Kristoff’s loyal reindeer and the chubby, friendly Trolls all add to the comic elements.

In Frozen, Disney weaves its magic again by going back to its roots of using state-of-the art animation to revive old classics and inspire the audience with timeless wholesome values (of love, loyalty, kinship and family) which we can explore on many levels with our children. The plot is well paced and the story develops seamlessly. One universal theme which came across strongly is the notion that ‘Love conquers all – even our own insecurities and shortcomings’; and such love is greater than our romanticized ideas of how love should be.

We were awed by the musical storytelling with original songs and beautiful tunes. The 3D animation was splendid and everyone in the audience (from young to old) thoroughly enjoyed this adventure.
