I’ve always preferred snowskin mooncakes over traditional baked ones. My husband David is the opposite – he’s for all things authentic and old-fashioned. One of my earliest memories of Mid-Autumn Festival were those of my Mom, using the meager savings left of her lean salary to buy different mini snowskin mooncakes from neighbourhood bakeries as a annual treat for my sister and I.  I remembered that as a child, my favourite snowskin mooncakes would be the green coloured ones, in Pandan flavour. Oh how I would savour these mooncakes slowly to prolong the enjoyment. They weren’t exceptionally tasty but eating these snowskin mooncakes reminds me of my Mother’s sacrificial love.<\/p>\n

Ever since I started earning my keep as a working adult, I buy Mooncakes for my Mum in return.  Coming from a family of durian-lovers, we particularly love the durian snowskin mooncake from Emicakes<\/a>.  Made from pure durian pulp wrapped in a thin layer of snowkin, these Emicakes<\/a> durian mooncakes make such delicious post-dinner dessert, the perfect pampering for loved ones at Mid-Autumn reunions. Be warned that you have to exercise a great deal of will power to stop at one (bite) before the entire box is devoured in minutes. Dana and I prefer the Mao Shan Wang as it’s slightly sweeter but David and my Mum likes the D24.<\/p>\n
