We are avid supporters of local writers and have found this series of Timmy & Tammy storybooks<\/a> excellent for emergent readers. The stories follow a pair of siblings, Timmy and Tammy, in exploring various prime sights around Singapore and talk about the different places and experiences unique to our country. Linguistically, they are good introductory readers for young children where they pick up reading skills, relate it to real life experiences and then have fun with the activity at the back of each book (much better than Peter and Jane, if you ask me).\u00a0 Kids being visual learners will also love the full-color, eye-catching illustrations that accompany each story.
