We finally made it! Over the long Good Friday/ Easter weekend, we jiggled everyone’s busy schedules, squeezed a carload of adults with one preschooler and off we went to Holland! Well…sort of. We went to Gardens by the Bay for the much anticipated Tulipmania 2014!Tulipmania - 14 April to 4 May (9am to 9pm)Upon reaching, we were greeted by a car park queue that could be seen from space. The ticketing queue offered little consolation. But bent on making lemonade when life gives us … [Read more...]
Foodie Friday: Fish&Co Mothers’ Day Platter!
Fish&Co is no stranger to Singapore's F&B scene and their iconic glass house branch at Park Mall is almost an institution in itself. We remembered Fish&Co is one of our favourite dining places with friends during our tertiary and courtship days. All of us can testify to its generous and succulent portions of seafood served in a pan.Cosy Interiors at The Glass House flagship outletWe all know Moms around the world will only serve the best on the table to the family. This Mothers' Day, … [Read more...]
Abrakadoodle Marine Parade – where Art is more than meets the eye…
It was a regular yet irregular weekday afternoon - while I was at work and the wife was held up in office too (it was both our hectic season). When she finally stepped home, she was pleasantly surprised to see Dana quietly drawing at the dining table - she was midway through her personal rendition of Piere Auguste Renoir's 'Auvers sur Oise', tracing the lines which would eventually be the rolling landscape dotted with lush green trees accentuated by white fluffy clouds … [Read more...]
PappaRich – Rich in Traditions, Values and Flavours
We live in a cosmopolitan, digital age where traditions are eroding at an alarming pace. Ask any youngster on the street for their fav staple food and they'll most likely say pizzas, pastas, fish & chips, burgers etc... In fact, most of us can whip up a pasta meal better than say, a 'Bak Chok Mee' or 'Bak Chang' (Rice Dumpling). What makes us truly Asians and how do these show from the food we eat? Asians are renowned for our work ethics - diligence, adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit. … [Read more...]
{Giveaway} It’s a Havaianas World!
People associate Brazil with Passion, Life and Colours: Samba, Bossa Nova, Carnivale, Soccer, World Cup (Pele, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho) and its original and best-selling flip flops - Havaianas. Havaianas is so popular because it embodies the fun, vibrant and spontaneous way of Brazilian life. Many friends I know swear by Havaianas for its style and comfort. Till today, every pair of Havaianas is still lovingly designed and crafted in Brazil. Ever since Dana was gifted with her first pair … [Read more...]
Ocean Dreams at S.E.A. Aquarium – More than Just a Dream!
One of the things that is high on our to do list to bring Dana on a camping trip...Daddy has imagined it to be one where we would pitch a tent, eat BBQ food, sing some camping songs etc…all under the stars. However for reasons that Dana's still quite young and also for safety, we haven’t quite got around to even planning for one yet. That was until recently when the RWS S.E.A. Aquarium presented the opportunity to experience their Ocean Dreams Programme, which offers a … [Read more...]

Rapunzel – Renewed, Refreshed and what a Riot!
SRT's The Little Company's 'Rapunzel' is an exceptionally well put-together musical play for young audience and families. We watched it on Saturday and loved it.From March 14 to April 30, 2014The plot is easy to follow and keeps kids riveted to their seats. Dialogues are engaging and not excessive, pitched to cater to kids' short attention spans. It starts with a teenaged Rapunzel's imprisonment in the tower instead of retelling it traditionally from the time Rapunzel was a newborn … [Read more...]
Child Label – A Label of Love
I recalled when we had to enrol Dana in infant-care at 4 month old back in 2008, we were asked to label her milk bottles, bibs, clothes, socks and other essentials to avoid any loss or mix-up at the infant care centre. I scouted around for durable and attractive labels but to my dismay, there were none to be found locally. In the end, we had to pay premium to order from Australia. I had to combine and coordinate orders with my girl friends just to qualify for free shipping. Either that or we had … [Read more...]
An Elephant on Ice…Review of Disney on Ice: Treasure Trove
I’m writing this after having been to our 3rd Disney on Ice. Before you say, ‘Yeah, so what’s the great deal?’ Well, first you have to know that I’m a serious movie and musical buff – I love movies and musicals that have a certain ‘cerebral edge’ - those with allegories, conspiracies and metaphors. So for me to, willingly, go to my 3rd Disney on Ice…is no mean feat. Why did I do so? Because these shows where fairy tales come to life transport us all to a magical world where dreams come … [Read more...]
