Day #11 of October Playbook states: Collect 5 types of Leaves and classify them. I remembered as a primary school kid, we were assigned these Young Scientist Cards with projects and activities which we have to complete to earn our young Botanist, young Zoologist and young Geologist certificates and badges. I enjoyed those tremendously and wish Dana would be as fascinated in the Natural world as I did.Does these bring back fond memories for you too?Today's challenge is exactly one which I … [Read more...]
October Playbook: Clouds Around the World!
Day #9 of the October Playbook Challenge encourages us to go Cloud Spotting - something I wish I had the time to do more often...A shot taken en-route to Melbourne, AustraliaI vaguely remembered studying names of clouds in Geography lessons and enjoyed it. Whenever I fly, I love peeping out of the plane windows to admire the clouds. My fav place for cloud watching has got to be in Australia (where the skies are perpetually in mesmerizing shades of blue). For today's challenge, I … [Read more...]
October Playbook: Did you see what I see?
We've entered week 2 of the October Playbook Challenge and this happens to be the week to G.O (Get Out!). Today, Day #8's challenge is to go on a Neighbourhood Insect Safari! Day #2 of the October Playbook Challenge reads: Scat-Singing!WHAT IS SCAT? To put it simply, Scat is the improvised singing of nonsense syllables in jazz music, similar to an instrumental jazz solo. You use your voice to sing words that you invent. When I saw this challenge last night, I was stumped momentarily...Scat-singing is not something we do on a daily basis so some inspiration is needed...Daddy had introduced Jazz to Dana and she enjoyed it so I am keen to ride on this challenge to … [Read more...]
