Charly T's is a cosy family restaurant where all the dishes on its menu are culled from Charly's Travels (Hence, the name Charly T's). Apparently, Charly (presumably the founder) was so inspired with the food he encountered on his extensive travels that he decided to set up a restaurant as a tribute to his food journeys across the globe. From the rotisserie chicken in Hamburg to the Kalua pork in Hawaii, there's something to please everyone's taste buds.Embark on a Food Journey with Charly … [Read more...]

Today was one of the rare days that Daddy was able to get off work earlier. We decided on a whim to go for dinner at this steamboat restaurant that many of my Mommy friends have been raving about. We both love steamboat and today's wet and rainy weather presents the perfect opportunity to enjoy some steaming hot soup!A screen-grab from Daddy's Facebook...The name 'Hai Di Lao' 海底捞 is catchy and I suspect it might be a pun on the Chinese idiom '海底捞針'. We were warned that this … [Read more...]
Food, Glorious Kampong Food!
During our Mothers' Day Staycation last weekend at the Changi Village Hotel, we dined at its in-house Saltwater Cafe. We are generally not buffet fans but we do indulge a little on special occasions. If you have family members who can only take Asian Food (like Dana's Great Grandma) or you are entertaining overseas guests who would like to be acquainted with the many yummy dishes which make Singapore a 'Food Paradise', then you must take them to Saltwater Cafe's Kampong Dinner … [Read more...]
Food Review: Museo at Quayside Isle
Sunset at Quayside IsleIt was our first time venturing into Quayside Isle (圣景湾) but we liked the relaxed vibe the moment we stepped foot on the timbered promenade lining the cove. Quayside Isle is Sentosa's newest integrated retail and dining destination (right next to W Sentosa Hotel). For non Sentosa Cove residents like us, the journey there itself is like a 'mini-excursion' of sorts, giving us heightened anticipation of the surprise that awaits. Mesmerizing marina … [Read more...]

Foodie Friday: Bon Apetit Poulét!
Today's food review is one of our new discoveries in 2013 which has since become our family's favourite restaurant. Yes you heard it - French dining that is both delectable for the Asian palate and easy on the wallets. Poulét (pronounced as 'Poo-lay', meaning chicken) is a chain of French casual dining restaurants offering affordable French classics. It has expanded to 3 outlets in Singapore within a short span of one year but we have visited the Great World City branch twice this … [Read more...]
Foodie Friday: Colourful Xiao Long Baos!
We brought the Princess for an Urban Street Art workshop at Ion Orchard last Sunday. I've been seeing many friends 'checked into' this Paradise Dynasty restaurant on Facebook and drooled at photos of these petite Xiao Long Baos (steamed pork dumplings) which came in a myraid of colours. Since we were at Ion, we decided to give ourselves a treat at the restaurant.Even though a queue was forming at lunchtime, we were led to our seats in less than 5 minutes. Service was efficient and very … [Read more...]
