‘4 hours, 4 minutes’ What would you do with 4 hours of any day? For me, I would have packed it with parental duties, work commitments and perhaps errands! What would you do with 4 minutes? Most of us are so busy, 4 minutes would pass by without us even noticing it. But reality is that in the mere 4 minutes, our brain and other vital organs would begin to fail if no oxygen is supplied to it. This effect is irreversible. The Truth Truth is, if any one, including my loved … [Read more...]
A Letter to my 8 year old on the Eve of her Birthday…
My Dearest Dana Somehow this year, you were really eagerly anticipating the arrival of your birthday, even though Daddy and I managed your expectations by telling you that there will be no big celebrations for you after you turned 7. But still on New Year's Day, you set the wooden calendar on top of the piano to 05 Apr (your birth-date), starting the slow but sure count down to your 8th Birthday. You have grown so much so quickly these past two years since entering Primary School, … [Read more...]
How I protect my family from Dengue
Recently, a family friend came down with dengue and had to spend a grueling week in the hospital. Since there is no specific treatment for dengue, it is important for us to prevent the transmission of this virus. With dengue cases on the rise due to the 2015 El Niño phenomenon that caused warmer weather conditions, I share 3 practical ways we can practice to protect our families from falling victim to dengue: 1. Remove Stagnant Water in our Living Space with the 5-Step Mozzie Wipeout: I … [Read more...]

A Visit to a Pediatric Dentist
We all know that we have only 2 sets of teeth. Our adult teeth emerge from around 7 years of age and accompany us for the rest of our lives. Any serious damage to our teeth will not only be costly to treat, it may potentially impede the quality of our lives. Ironically, in an affluent and urbanized society like Singapore, tooth decay can still be a serious problem especially since we tend to consume many types of food and beverages that are high in sugar and preservatives. What makes it worse … [Read more...]
The Combi F2 Plus – Don’t Judge a Stroller by its Weight
So here it is, a stroller that weighs only 4.1kg. Holding it up confirms the claim - It’s really so light! In fact, my daughter’s school bag (approx 6 kg with a water bottle strapped to it) weighs heavier than that. If we think about it, there is actually an endless list of everyday items that weigh more than this stroller e.g. a sack of rice, an economy pack of detergent, a carton of printing paper…you get the idea. So, I was naturally skeptical. Because in the world of strollers, it seems … [Read more...]

The METHOD to a Clean and Safe Home
Homes with young children, especially those with toddlers who crawl and put everything in their mouths, should be chemical-free. While we teach our kids to practise good hygiene habits and strive to feed them with good nutrients to keep them in the pink of health, we sometimes forget that the chemicals we bring into the home (in the form of cleaning products) can do more harm than good. Washing liquids and detergents which we use daily (presumably to keep our homes and laundry free … [Read more...]
Rockin’ Good Time with Drypers Drypants!
Buddy turned 1 years old last month. He spends a large part of his day at home with my Mum while I am at work so I find myself amazed by the speed of his physical developments. He weighs nearly 12kg now, and is so mobile now that he no longer is content to stay in his play yard or cot for longer than 10 minutes. These are what he can do at 13 months: A crew cut for our active Buddy cos he perspires perpetually! claps and smiles to welcome us when he sees us step … [Read more...]
