In our household, breakfast is a very simple affair: On weekdays, it’ll be bread with jam with butter, Post cereals, muffins & cupcakes which I baked the night before or the occasional ham/egg/ tuna sandwich. On weekends, Daddy loves to bring us out for breakfast and we would indulge in local hawker fare such as Kaya Toast with Runny Egg (Slurps!), Indian Roti Prata or Teochew Fishball noodles. When I saw Adora of The Gingerbread Mum hosting this Breakfast for Champs series, I knew I … [Read more...]

West Coast Park is a child's fantasy come true. With the theme "Play Centre in the West", West Coast Park underwent major redevelopments in 2000 and has since been transformed into a haven for park goers who enjoy challenging and adventurous activities. Standing at the centre of the park is an amazing Adventure Play Area which is one of the largest in Singapore with play equipment such as 'Tall Rope Pyramid' and 'Flying Fox'. It's no wonder this park is teeming with … [Read more...]
Guest Post at A Playful Mum: Loving my spot – Ecclectic Clementi
As a young girl, I grew up and schooled in Clementi, a small estate in the Western part of Singapore. Our first matrimonial home was in Clementi, hence this town has a special spot in my heart. While doing research for this post, I discovered with the help of Mr. Wiki that Clementi is named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith, Governor of the Straits Settlements and High Commissioner from 1887 to 1893. Among his achievements during his stint in office were laws brought into force to control in … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday: Singapore, my Home
Our Young Patriot8th August - Each day this year, school-going kids all across the country would be smartly dresed in Red and White and excitedly bound for school. It's the day where they'll celebrate Singapore's National Day! I have very fond memories of National Day celebrations in schools where we belted out countless National Day Songs with all our hearts and culminated with the Pledge Moment. Thankful Tuesday: Teaching Children to Worship…
Last month, we went to Tecman Christian Bookstore in search of a new women's devotional bible (which was supposedly an overdue Mother's Day gift promised by Daddy). As usual, we lingered around in the bookstore even after I found my bible; browsing the wide variety of resources on sale.In the far corner of the shop, this series of Children's Worship CD from 'Streams of Praise Taiwan' caught my attention with its colourful, bright graphics. Daddy liked the fact that each CD comes with free … [Read more...]

Hatched, Rise & Dine!
We chanced upon this restaurant in 2010 when we were sourcing for a good casual party venue for Dana’s birthday. Opened in September 2009, Hatched at Evans Lodge is a restaurant that serves all day breakfast. As the name implies, the menu at Hatched carries all kinds of eggs - boiled, poached, baked, scrambled, fried, and omelette. Even though it isn’t our first meal at Hatched, there were so many different choices on the menu that it took us a while to decide what we want! We went … [Read more...]
