The name Andrew Lloyd Webber is synonymous with musicals. Some of his famous works we've watched are The Phantom of the Opera (my very first musical!), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita and Cats. We were ecstatic to watch one of his longest-running musicals which has been watched by over 25 million people worldwide last night - STARLIGHT EXPRESS! Starlight Express is so popular around the world that there are theaters purposefully built to stage it. This … [Read more...]

Why we love Art at HeART Studio
Among all the enrichment lessons Dana attends, she enjoys Art the most. It's not uncommon to see her doodling on the whiteboard easel and on drawing paper. My office wall also boasts a growing collection of her drawings. Being the outdoorsy, adventurous girl that she is, it came as a pleasant surprise she loves art so much she repeatedly ask for art lessons. Not wanting to dampen her enthusiasm, we decided to re-shuffle our schedules and recently enrolled her at HeART Studio. Why … [Read more...]

Weekend Wandering: Home Team Festival 2013

Yup, you heard it right - not a doctor, not a dentist, not a teacher but a police officer. So on a laid back Sunday evening, instead of winding down at home, we decided to drive all the way from the west to Singapore Expo just so our daughter can visit the Home Team Festival on its final day.Welcome to the inaugural Home Team Festival! The inaugural festival, … [Read more...]

Whether in nursery, kindergarten up to primary and secondary school, teachers play an integral part in developing our young into responsible adults. Angels on Assignment: The Year End Concert
'Christmas isn't Christmas....till it happens in your heart....somewhere deep inside you, is where Christmas really starts'....That is the finale song at Dana's Kindergarten Concert yesterday. An apt song now that it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas with malls decked in Christmas lights, carols and festive decoration, all mighty eager to cash in on the yuletide season. The concert put up by Dana's K1 and K2 friends brought us around the world to see how different countries … [Read more...]
Wordless Wednesday: What your Child thinks of you…
A fellow Mommy Blogger Lyn shared this video on facebook yesterday. I teared watching it. On too many mornings, my fuse has been short, my temper great and my words harsh. God is convicting me to exercise more self-control, more love and more patience because despite all my shortcomings, my daughter still can see the good in me. I have so much, so much to be thankful for and by God's grace, I will see myself transformed in a new light. A New Perspective For Moms … [Read more...]
Weekend Wandering: Dentist for a Day!
I stared into the blinding light, trying to make sense of my surrounding. My eyes quickly focused on a masked face which was approaching me, eagerly... but before I could react, I heard a muffled voice speak through the surgical mask, " Hi Daddy..." her eyes squinted with a wide smile beneath the mask. I smiled in return and replied, " Hi Dana!" but before I could continue, she commanded, " Open your mouth..." I sheepishly obliged as she proceeded to examine my teeth with a mouth mirror … [Read more...]
