Murder Most Foul. Quite honestly, I wasn’t familiar with the story of Julius Caesar but that didn’t made any difference. This is coming from someone whose knowledge of the play, was about the famous Roman ruler who died in the hands of his infamous friend, and yes, that final phrase ‘Et tu Brute’. In fact my 10 year old daughter’s knowledge of the plot far eclipses mine. Despite that, I enjoyed Shakespeare in the Park: Julius Caesar thoroughly! Here are 5 reasons we think … [Read more...]

This weekend while solo parenting, I decided to bring the kids to watch ‘A Peter Rabbit Tale' by SRT’s The Little Company. Shakespeare in the Park – Romeo and Juliet (2016)
Admittedly, it was about 20 years ago in Melbourne that I watched my last Shakespearean play in a park setting. It was a cool night as the handful of audience watched the Royal Botanic Gardens transformed into playful Puck’s playground for Midsummer’s Night’s Dream. Needless to say, it was spellbinding. However, since returning to Singapore, I have not dared or even entertain the thought of watching Shakespeare performed in the park due obviously, to the heat, humidity and the … [Read more...]
{Giveaway} Shakespeare in the Park 2016 – Romeo & Juliet
Not many people knew I took Literature all the way up to University. For my GCE 'O' Level Literature text, it was none other than Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. So when I heard that Singapore Repertory Theatre is presenting Romeo & Juliet in this year's 'Shakespeare in the Park' series, I was stoked. I was even more pleased when I saw that the young lovers will be portrayed by Thomas Pang (Tribes) and our favourite Cheryl Tan (from Beauty World, Three Billy Goats … [Read more...]
