Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see. – C.S Lewis
Hi, we are David and Angie. A warm welcome to our blog, ‘Life’s Tiny Miracles’!
This blog is a collection of our thoughts and reflections about parenthood as a family living in tropical Singapore. We write about the beautiful and trying moments of everyday life – friendship, faith, family, food, travels, books, the ups & downs of parenting and all other things that shape us, delight us, and help our family grow. We are very honoured to be one of the winners of the Singapore Blog Awards ‘Top 10 Most Popular Singapore Blogs’ 2015.
Our journey to parenthood was wrought with heartaches brought about by infertility and child-losses. We were almost certain that the blessings of parenthood would never be ours until our miracle baby, Dana came along. This blog originated in 2008 as ‘Princess Dana Diaries’ to record the tiny steps of faith as first time parents to our beautiful baby girl, born after nine years of childlessness and three child losses. In June 2014, we adopted baby AJ (or ‘Buddy’ as we call him) as our second child through divine intervention.
Why Life’s Tiny Miracles?
Well, why not? In the hectic lives we lead, all of us need a gentle nudge to appreciate the little ‘miracles’ and blessings which are too numerous to count yet too significant to ignore. These ‘miracles’ can come in the form of friendships, family ties, helping hands and life’s lessons. They can also come in the form of an answered prayer, a beautiful memory borne out of pain or a special milestone to cherish forever. Are there still worries, struggles and pain in our lives? Plenty. But we are mindful to focus on life’s tiny miracles so we can be free from the bitterness and disappointments that impede us from living the abundant, purposeful life.
